| Abstract | Telecom industry in Shanghai had registered sustained growth in the Eighth Five-Year Plan period (1991-1995). Shanghai will further expand telecom industry in the next five years (1996-2000) in two stages: In the first stage, output value of telecom industry in 1996 and 1997 will reach 15 billion and 20 billion RMB yuan respectively while pre-tax profits will top 2.7 billion and 4 billion RMB yuan respectively. In the second stage, output value and pre-tax profits of telecom industry will reach 35 billion and 6.5 billion RMB yuan respectively by the year 2000. |
