| Abstract | In 1995, program-controlled switching equipment was made available to all counties in Tibet while 97% of the counties had access to the national toll automatic switching network. Construction of a batch of basic telecom facilities enabled Tibet to enlarge its telecom networks. Optic-fiber cable from Lhasa to Rikeze and from Lhasa to Shannan have been completed. With the completion of VSAT voice stations in 10 counties and two airports,total number of VSAT stations in Tibet topped 73. In consequence, a SATCOM network was established in the autonomous region. |
