| Abstract | Quarry Bay, located on the east side of Hong Kong island, is seeing an intense period of office building activity transform an area made up predominantly of warehouses and small-scale trading operations. This district is a serious contender to become one of the leading business and commercial centres of Hong Kong. With ever escalating office rents in Central many international firms are relocating to the east of the island in search of modern and flexible office space with lower rents. Swire Properties made their first bid to develop Quarry Bay back in the late 1980s when the company began a massive programme to develop properties on the vast amounts of land that they own in Quarry Bay. |
