| Abstract | In December 1996, the 8th International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) Eastern Regional Conference is coming to town. The event is being organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA), with a little help from the Architectural Services Department and the Urban Council. C K Wong, Senior Lecturer with the Department of Architecture at Hong Kong University and past president of the HKILA, seemed the ideal person to go to for a historical perspective on the organisers. Not surprisingly, the Institute's history is closely linked to the evolution of landscaping in Hong Kong. Also, Daniel To Boon-man, Chairman of the Urban Council's Working Group for the Greening of Hong Kong, talked about his work for promoting the greening of environment. |
