AbstractAccording to Deep C. Kapur and Joanne Goh of Salomon Brothers, the wobbly progress of the Hang Seng Index since May 1996 has been rather uninspiring for investors maintaining directional positions. Mean reversion in valuation measures is often recognised as an important source of expected return for a market. In the case of Hong Kong, none of the nine indicators/models that they follow suggest the market is a screaming buy.
