| Abstract | German shipowners have discovered the smaller Chinese shipyards and have placed with them a host of orders for containerships, ranging from small feeder vessels of 374-TEU capacity to medium sized units of 1400-TEU. Small coastal yards and even inland yards on the Yangtse, which previously were engaged only on domestic work,are sharing in total orders from Germany for over 47,400-TEU of container slots. |
