Abstract | This article describes the history of the House of Cartier which began in 1847 founded by Louis-Francois Cartier. In 1970, the first Cartier boutique was opened in Hong Kong and has a relatively long history. From Hong Kong, the business expanded to Tokyo, Singapore, Australia, and Taiwan. Philippe Leopold-Metzger, the new managing director of Les Must de Cartier (Far East) Limited said the market in Hong Kong is a wonderful short-term market. In 1996, the Asia Pacific region (including Japan) will account for 40% of business world wide. The turnover will be as important as it is in Europe. |
