| Abstract | The Breakthrough Youth Village in Shatin, designed by Freeman Chan Associates, aims to provide a restful place in a cultural and social Christian environment for personal renewal. A site was donated by the Government, but the project itself was funded by donations. Freeman Chan's 18-year association with Breakthrough has been a close relationship from which Chan has gained a great deal of satisfaction. He emphasised that "the project was an evolving architectural process rather than just a product, which gave everyone involved a great deal of satisfaction." |
