AbstractTen years after the completion of the landmark HongkongBank Headquarters at 1 Queen's Road Central, Foster Asia, the Hong Kong arm of architects Sir Norman Foster and Partners, was commissioned to create a new interior within its own building design. The client was Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Investment Banking Asia Holdings, which relocated from its offices in Hutchison House to the 15th floor of the HongkongBank in June 1995. The move was an opportunity for the company to craft a new image for itself, as well as improving its operational efficiency and providing a better working environment. This article looks at how Foster Asia satisfies these criteria.
