| Abstract | Responding to the government's invitation in January 1995 to submit a proposal for the construction and operation of the Western Corridor Railway (now West Rail), the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) prepared a Detailed Feasibility Study and delivered its proposal to the government in November 1995. West Rail will significantly improve access to the urban core, shorten travel time and reduce traffic on roads and at border crossings. |
