| Abstract | A ring with a 10.32-carat ruby and diamonds and matching earrings with two rubies, sold for the highest price, US$358,251 in an auction of jewellery and watches held by Christie's in Hong Kong in September 1996. According to international director of the jewellery department at Christie's Francois Curiel, buyers in the auction were mainly from Jakarta in Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Taipei in Taiwan, Singapore, Tokyo in Japan and Hong Kong. |
