| Abstract | Full-Link Plaza is a major new building in Chaoyang district in Beijing, China. Across the road from the new Foreign Ministry, close to Chaoyangmen Mass Transit Railway and the second ring road, it boasts a high profile site and was designated as one of 10 priority projects in the city when it was launched, making its design particularly sensitive. The need to respect Chinese culture and the desire to enjoy the best of the outside world; the need to defer to the Foreign Ministry and the desire to create a strong identity of its own; the security of conservatism and the excitement of the new have been pulled together with great diligence and dexterity. This article looks at how the Design Professionals meet the requirements of this demanding work. |
