Abstract | The Dransfield Holdings warehouse in Shenzhen registered a good year after its listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange in 1993, but profits have been falling ever since. In 1996, it turned a loss of $21.4 million, largely as a result of its faltering electronics business. Dransfield is striking out. It is expanding its warehousing capacity with the new property in the tax-free zone of Futian in Shenzhen, and moving from paper distribution to production, developing plants in Conghua, and in Jiangsu province, near Shanghai. To fund the process, it hopes to raise cash on the US Nasdaq exchange. |
