Abstract | Government officials from Inner Mongolia recently conducted a market survey of cashmere in order to ascertain the situation and capitalisation of trading enterprises, and then fix official purchasing price guidelines. The 1996 market for cashmere will probably not be active, the world market being still sluggish; local textile plants lack overseas orders and vast sector. Prices of cashmere goods have fluctuated quite sharply in recent years, in 1994 starting low, then shooting up, in 1995 quickly falling again. |
