Abstract | In November 1992, an unholy row erupted over Hong Kong Government's decision to grant Jardines a share in developing Container Terminal 9 (CT9). China raged, claiming that the decision, struck in a private deal, was a payoff for the company's support for Governor Patten's reforms. However, recent Government threats to retender the CT9 contract after the consortiums involved failed to reach any kind of reallocation agreement, seems to have finally spurred the concerned parties into action. |
