Abstract | Ford's manufacturing plant has been cranking out right-hand drive cars for the first time ever after decades of ignoring Asian countries with left-hand driving. As the world's No 2 auto manufacturer increasingly turns its attention to Asia, US-built cars will be seen cruising Hong Kong's streets in coming years. Although the Hong Kong automobile market is saturated, Ford executives hope that their new mid-market Taurus, will attract drivers ready to abandon compact, boxy Japanese cars but unable to afford the exorbitant cost of a Mercedes Benz. |
