AbstractThis article is a review on Alan B Pierce's "Cheung Chau Dog Fanciers' Society". The story of the book centres on a financial consultant who falls from society's grace after being linked to a crooked tycoon. He is exiled to Cheung Chau by the police and is then left to the mercies of an uncaring judicial system, interdepartmental squabbling of law enforcement agencies and the perpetual threat of having his miserable existance snuffed by triads in a frenzy. The book shows island life away from the Mid-Levels rush and noise with splendid little yarns of the society's adventure.
