AbstractSearching through the "Hong-Kong-architecture-jokes" net, the author comes across the Sinorama magazine. The magazine reveals Taiwan's film industry blues. As is the case in Hong Kong, Taiwan's audiences have been drifting over to more sophisticated Western fare. Attendance at locally-made films fell to exactly half of the Western films. It is written that, even if Hong Kong is the only competitor to Taiwan itself, Hong Kong would almost completely dominate the local scene, with Taiwan films snatching at most, only one or two spots in the top 10.
