| Abstract | Current treatment of the seriously mentally ill adult emphasizes community care, therefore exploration of how hospital based psychiatric social workers perceive their role in preparing patients for discharge is timely. This article is a piece of research note that compares the ideal functions of Hong Kong in-patient hospital social workers with their actual job duties on ten functions that are acknowledged to facilitate a favorable community adjustment. |
