| Abstract | This article is a book review of Norman Lebrecht's "When the Music Stops", which followed his eminently readable book "The Maestro Myth". In his publication, Lebrecht sets out to provoke people into resisting some of the many commercial pressures shaping a musical life. He draws from all kinds of sources, particularly his own interviews with performers and promoters. The book contains many direct quotations from people in the music business and is suggested, by the reviewer, as a reading material for anyone who cares about music. |
