AbstractIn Marxist-Leninist thought, the class struggle between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie is a historical process that ultimately leads to the workers' victory and an ideal classless society. Mao Zedong adapted this idea to the Chinese context by shifting the focus from urban laborers to peasants. Mao's brand of communism gave rise to many well-known and colorful terms, a selection of which are listed in this article.
