| Abstract | The Templeton Emerging Markets crowd breaks the news in its latest bulletin that world attention is focused on the territory, and the prospects on the economic, political and stock market front. It declares that there is a 25 per cent chance of a disaster occurring after the handover of Hong Kong sovereignty which would jeopardize the long-term growth in the value of their Hong Kong holding. If a disaster occurs, it will probably be along the lines of the Tiananmen incident in Beijing. However, they believe the potential returns on having a large Hong Kong presence at the time of the handover more than outweigh the risks. |
