| Abstract | The quasi-experimental design was employed to assessed the attitudes towards mental illness of general student nurses in Hong Kong. Also, the authors compared the attitudes to mental illness of students who had taken a psychiatric secondment (n=47) with those who had not taken a psychiatric secondment (n=45). It is found that the general student nurses in the sample expressed very positive attitudes to mental illness and there was no difference in attitudes to mental illness between the two groups. The implications of these findings are discussed in this article. |
