| Abstract | The people of Hong Kong in regard to their views about the Special Administrative Region can be divided into three distinct categories. Some of course vacillate as their optimism and pessimism are clinched in eternal combat while still others shrug and say "que sera sera". Most, however, have taken a stand. As both Preparatory Committee and Legislative Council member, the author is "ecstatic that a century and a half of national shame is about to be erased" and waxes lyrical about how much better everything will be after the British have gone. |
