| Abstract | Following its successful Thinking Eye exhibition in January 1996 which featured works by painting staff from the Royal College of Art (RCA), Gallery 7 of Hong Kong decided to select a group of young artists who had recently graduated from the Royal College, including two local RCA graduates, painter Hale Man (1995) and printmaker Lau Kwok Fai (1993), for their summer exhibition. The exhibition title, Figure it Out, is a play on words. All the artists have contributed figurative works, but each one uses figuration with a different objective, not always immediately obvious to the viewer. The exhibition is concluded to have a multiplicity of styles. |
