| Abstract | After enforcement of the new labour laws stipulating maximum working hours per week and maximum overtime hours for female workers, officials of the China Textile Labour Union toured 35 state-run and collectively owned textile plants in many major cities, and discovered that the new laws are not helpful to female workers because the management disregards them and the workshop arrangements prevent the regulations from being adopted. |
