AbstractFor the year 1994 Yizheng Chemical Fibre Co. of China reports profits up by 64%, thanks to a strong demand for polyester due to the world cotton shortage. The cost of raw materials also rose however. "Global prices of chemical materials move in line with rising demand", says Ren Chuanjun, managing director. "But some experts predict that the demand will ease in the second half-year when several PTA production lines come into operation in Asia"
