| Abstract | During January-May 1995 sales of linen yarn and fabrics turned from strong in the same period of 1994 to sluggish. Owing to their lower production cost, ramie yarn and fabrics are replacing linen in the domestic market. In January-March 1995 sales of linen fabrics fell by 18.2%, while sales of ramie fabrics rose by 9.1%. |
