AbstractThe trend of textile imports in China during 1985-94 indicates that the quantities are escalating. The main categories of the imports include textile raw materials, yarn, fibre and fabrics and clothing. Total imports of textile goods rose from US$2,740 million in 1985 to $12,858 million in 1994, for an average annual growth of 18%, only 3% less than the annual growth of textile exports. Currently textile imports represent 11.1% of total imports.
