| Abstract | Legislative counsellor Chim Pui-chung, who represents the financial services constituency in the chamber, was arrested by the Commercial Crime Bureau on 18 July 1996. Chim was charged with two counts of conspiracy to forge and one count of conspiracy to defraud. Two of his assistants were also charged. The arrests followed investigations by the Securities and Futures Commission and the police into alleged irregularities relating to dealings in the shares of Lucky Man Properties and the sale of an apartment building in Repulse Bay Road. |
