| Abstract | 1996 is Clothing Fair's 10th anniversary. Twenty years ago the Hong Kong Productivity Council, with the sponsorship of a number of garment associations and groups, organised this biennial event, featuring the latest machinery for garment making equipment. Much has occured during these 20 years. Today, many Hong Kong garment manufacturers have moved their operations to South China or neighbouring countries, and many exhibitions have been organised in other countries. Hong Kong has also been transformed from a production centre into a sourcing centre. A report on the event is provided in this article. |
