| Abstract | Under the 9th Five Year Plan, 1996-2000, the construction of highways, railroads, port facilities and vast hydraulic schemes will expand rapidly; car manufacturing and anti-pollution requirements also will rise, so that overall the market for technical textiles will be enormous. By the year 2000 the total annual output of technical textiles may reach 2 million tons, it is estimated, or 20% of the national consumption of textile fibres. |
