| Abstract | The ending of Hong Kong Chinese involvement in the British Army in 1997 has been commemorated in a spectacular and moving ceremony at the internationally famous Royal Tournament. The display featured 53 members of the Hong Kong Military Service Corps, with participants drawn from a variety of units representing a cross-section of the territory's home-grown soldiers. It took as a theme Britain's naval exploits, opening with a laser show against a wall of water and ending with an "underwater" scene featuring a 35-metre-long submarine. |
