| Abstract | There are less than one year to go before Hong Kong returns to the motherland's embrace and becomes a special administrative region of China. This is a momentous event, both in the recent history of the mainland and in the world. The author thinks that the most important challenge is to guarantee stability so that the sovereignty of Hong Kong can be smoothly transferred, and that its stability and prosperity can continue after 1997. |
