| Abstract | The Shenzhen Stock Exchange is close to approving the listing of up to seven new domestic investment funds to increase opportunities for small investors to play the market. After Shenzhen investors rioted in August 1992 over the alleged misallocation of subscription forms, the Shenzhen authorities started casting around for ways to allow smaller investors into the market in a controlled fashion. On the advice of Hongkong fund management experts, they stepped up moves to authorise collective investment vehicles. |
