Abstract | Nationally, two years of the women's law has led to progress in protecting women's rights and interests, according to Xu. Up to the end of 1994, nearly 20, or two thirds, of China's provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions had issued detailed regulations on implementing the law, and 24 provincial governments established special bodies to supervise the implemention. "All the provinces in China are expected to stipulate regulations and set up organizations to enforce the law by the end of 1995," Xu says. |
