| Abstract | Guangxi in southwest China is an autonomous region for the Zhuang nationality, however, the province is also home to 70 per cent of the Yao people who number 1.4 million altogether. This article explores the Yao people's history, origins, lifestyles, production methods, practice of religion, economic growth in recent times, their tourist charm and ethnic culture, and the skill in weaving, dyeing and embroidery. |
