| Abstract | China favours the extension of the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons but views it as inadequate, Chinese Foreign Minister Qian Qichen told the UN General Assembly. Qian expounded a seven-point proposal by the Chinese Government on a nuclear disarmament process with a view to ultimately ridding mankind of the threat of nuclear war and ushering in a nuclear-weapon-free world. The seven points are listed in this article. |
