| Abstract | Bamboo reporduction has long baffled scientist. Though some of the 1,200 species come into flower annually, many have breaks of a decade or longer, dedicating themselves entirely to vegetative growht. In most cases, bamboo of a given species originating from the same area will bloom simultaneously, even if transplanted far apart. |
