AbstractThe English are a "club" people, that is, they belong to a club. It is, therefore, not surprising that soon after Hongkong was ceded to Britain, the English Club was opened, in 1845, at the corner of Queen's Road Central and Wyndham Street (approximately where the present Entertainment Building stands.) It was lately renamed the Hongkong Club. This article gives a brief introduction on it.
