| Abstract | Initial public offerings (IPO) seem to be the investment flavour of the season as the Hang Seng Index travels decidedly sideways. Investors appear ready to sink money into any new listing that looks worthy, although the enthusiasm pales in comparison with 1983 when IPOs were over-subscribed hundreds of times. The next toe to dip into Hong Kong's fiscal waters is likely to be Wai Kee's China-based subsidiary Road King. The 26-year-old civil engineering firm - like many other established companies - has not overlooked the success of recent spin-offs and China play infrastructure listings on the local bourse. |
