| Abstract | The local bourse has been described as more of a mad cow than a raging bull. However, that hasn't stopped some market watchers from insisting that red chips - Hong Kong-listed companies owned by PRC entities - are still attractive. According to analyst, while China's austerity programme has taken its toll on the operating results of many B and H share companies, the red chips have been more successful in dealing with the tight domestic credit environment. More important is that, the red chips have strong government backing and more political clout. |
