| Abstract | Investors could soon become happily addicted to a new H-share company that trades primarily in the growing tobacco market on the mainland. Shanghai Industrial Holdings - set to list on 21 May 1996 - is a subsidiary of Shanghai Industrial Investment (Holdings). The parent company has a widely diversified stable of more than 130 subsidiaries. It is the fourth largest Shanghai-based conglomerate; the local government regularly gives it preferential treatment when investing in strategic development projects. |
