| Abstract | The development of Hong Kong is more or less related to its port and the associated sea transport industry. Hong Kong has already been developed as one of the most important shipping centres in the world. Nevertheless there was only one appointed member from the sea transport industry in the whole history of Legislative Council, yet his appointment wasn't even related to his position in the shipping world. This article discusses the major issues which reflect the need of having a representative in the Legislative Council for the sea transport industry. |
