| Abstract | "Prevent disasters and assist the poor" is the motto of a group of people from show business in Hong Kong wanting to help needy people in China. The main objective of the campaign is not really raising money. Perhaps the best description of the primary objective of the campaign is that it seeks to raise consciousness. "Our role is mainly to serve as a public service amplifier. We want to let more people aware of the urgent need faced by the people in poverty- or disaster-stricken areas", said Mr Eric Tsang, a leader of the Hong Kong Relief and Poverty Alleviation Action Committee. |
