| Abstract | The target for oil pipes production for 2000 has been set: a 75 per cent self-sufficiency. Production capacity does not seem a problem: China now has an oil tube production capacity of 700,000 tonnes per year, enough for 78 per cent of the domestic demand. The problem is that only about half of that capacity is being utilized. In 1995, China produced 370,000 tonnes of oil pipes. |
