AbstractThe tigers are behaving more like ostriches even as the dragon breathes roaring flames over the Taiwan Strait. Why have the governments of all the booming Southeast Asian economies chosen to bury their heads in the sand as China grows more belligerent over Taiwan? The only Southeast Asian leader to have described the consequences of an armed conflict in the Taiwan Strait on the region's seeming irreversible prosperity is Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew.
