| Abstract | The Hong Kong Social Welfare Personnel Registration Council had prepared a private member's bill for social workers registration. As early as May, 1995, the government agreed to prepare a government bill instead. It will be submitted to the Legislative Council for its first reading in June 1996. As the legistation will have significant impact on social work profession, both the Registration Council and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service are greatly concerned with it and consultation forums have been held. The Registration Council's view on the government bill is listed in the article. |
