| Abstract | It seems that, in Hong Kong, more than in almost any other society, building a successful sporting career is not as much a problem as persuading yound athletes to take the plunge in the first place. That's the view of Sports Physiologist and Psychologist Hon Ching-lung. Hon, a Physical Education Officer at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, has taught courses as part of the Hong Kong Coach Accreditation Programme (HKCAP) for five years. He feels that the pressure placed on Hong Kong youngsters to pursue business careers instead of sporting careers is turning potential champions away from sport. |
