| Abstract | The second informal leaders' conference of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation came to a resounding conclusion in Bogor, Indonesia, with a joint declaration that liberalisation of trade within the region will be realised in a quarter of a century. Predictably, the major player were the United States and China, the first still the world's superpower and the other a nation with the largest population and the potential of being the world's largest market. |
